Watchman Prayer Ministry
Guiding Scriptures:
"I have posted watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night: You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest, till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth." Isaiah 62:6-7 NIV
"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none." Ezekiel 22:20 NIV
The Watchman Prayer Ministry functions on the premise of prayer. It strives to provide inspirational, informational, and motivational encouragement to others in the privilege and responsibility of prayer. The committee endeavors to be sensitive to the leading of The Holy Spirit in all functions of this ministry to the glory of GOD.
The Watchman Prayer Ministry began on April 2, 1995, calling on members to be part of one of the most important privileges and blessings of the Christian life. Each member answering this call promises to give one hour a week to prayer, to include the following:
- for the causes that touch our church and church family,
- for unity and spiritual renewal in our church
- for our church staff
- for all members in positions of responsibility
- for our state
- for our nation
- for our world
These Prayer Warriors of Clemmons First Baptist Church are asked to renew their commitment each year. At the same time, emphasis is given to enlist others to join. Personal testimonies about what God has done through these times of prayer are encouraged at any time, and can be given during a worship service or included in the monthly newsletter.
A prayer room is located off the foyer at the rear of the sanctuary and is always available when the church is open for anyone seeking a quiet place to pray. Devotional books, helpful pamphlets on various life situations, audio tapes, and other inspirational books are available to be checked out or used in the room.
Special needs for prayer may be brought to our attention, and we handle these requests in confidence.
A monthly article relating to prayer is included in each monthly Church Newsletter.
