Reaching Our Changing World for Christ

Dorcas Sunday School Class

The Dorcas Sunday School is made up of approximately 40 women ranging in age from 55 - 75.  We try hard to live up to our namesake Dorcas. "In the city of Joppa there was a woman named Dorcas, a believer who was always doing kind things for others, especially for the poor."  Acts 9:36
This is a loving, caring, active class with four dedicated teachers.  In addition to ministering to our class members and their families during illnesses, deaths or other crisis, we provide assistance to a variety of needs, both in the community and throughout the world.  Some examples include:

a.  Taking an offering for the Clemmons Food Pantry the first Sunday of every month.
b.  Supporting the Christmas Toy Store operated by the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association
c.  Filling Christmas Shoe Boxes  for the Christmas Operation project.
d.  Participating in the "Share the Warmth" program sponsored by the Duke Energy Foundation.
e.  Supporting a child at the Children's Home.
f.  Participation in "Project In As Much" a diverse community outreach program.
g.  Helping meet emergency needs of church members or other community needs.

We enjoy a variety of social activities including eating out each quarter to celebrate the birthdays of class members, a Christmas and Valentine Social and a day trip to the mountains each fall.
We welcome newcomers with open arms.
