Dr. Messer received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. Then he went on to earn his Master of Theology from New Orleans Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Southern Theological Seminary.
His ministry experience is significant, but his heart for God's church is even more extensive. From 1972-2008, Bill served in various congregations as Executive Pastor and Interim Pastor. In his later ministry, Pastor Bill retired to have more time for being together as a family. As Bill said in his own words, " I could not sit idle for long and felt called to serve as a Transitional Pastor again." In 2009, he came back into vocational ministry and underwent further training to become a Transitional Pastor. Bill has served as a transitional pastor for 11 years and most recently finished serving at Lewisville Baptist Church in Lewisville, North Carolina. His ministry has taken him all over the country, including states as diverse as Kentucky and Alaska.
We are joyed to have Pastor Bill as our pastoral interim and look forward to our time growing in faith together. Welcome to the Journey!
